Kayla, hello?

Now, Kayla only has a "new" winter coat because her friend Naomi outgrew her old one and gave it to Kayla. We just were not going to be able to buy her a new coat. So Kayla demands a new matching hat be knit for her to wear with the coat.

So far so good.

She looks through the patterns I have and picks a really simple striped ribbed watchcap style I can knit with my eyes closed in about an hour.

Then, being Kayla, she does not go look at Michaels and pick $3 worth of Lion brand yarns. Oh, no. This is Kayla. She goes online and picks out

3 shades of Inca Alpaca.

I mean, yes, it's lovely, and it will go perfectly with the coat, but....
