Summer Begins

We have a preschool graduate!
Where have I been? Well, summer vacation is upon us. This means basically that all the kids are home almost all the time, at Club Mommy. I have no time to myself, which is going to make me and them a little more nuts than usual. Feivel doesn't have camp for another week, Kayla has camp only this week and then the week of July 4th, Tirtze's working only this week for an art teacher's camp, and Sachy is only going to 2 weeks of Boy Scout camp. The little ones have no camp plans at all.
The good news is that joining the pool this summer is paying dividends already. Sachy has gone from fearing standing in the water to practicing floats and forward crawl (with his face right in the water); Feivel is leaving the house at 11 in the morning when the pool opens and not coming home until dinner time (he packs a lunch). Addie loves to go fight with other preschoolers over toys in the wading pool and jump around in the shallow 2' end of the big pool. Gilad is learning to swim too.
Unfortunately, Feivel is still Feivel in behavior (I mean I love him, but, well, you know what I mean about him needing care we just can't provide) . We had a 10 minute overlap of no parent/sibling supervision this morning due to various drop offs and the younger two boys' swim lesson. All Feivel had to do was wait about 10 minutes and then head out on his bicycle to the pool. Somehow instead he locked himself out of the house during that time, and instead of going next door where they have a key (and a phone), or waiting for a parent to get home in a few minutes' time, he figured the best thing to do would be to break a window to let himself back in. The only good news is that he didn't seriously hurt himself. I can't tell you how badly he needs wrap-around care, but we just can't have it. One of these days he's going to seriously be injured, or hurt someone else, but we can't physically watch him 24 hours a day.
Since I have no knitting time now, I've slowed waaaaaay down. I did finish the main section of my shawl
and a pair of socks,
but now I have no time to get much more done.
